For venues

Your quiet nights are someone's favourite evening.

Recess brings small groups of people into real spaces to make things together. If you run a studio, a gym, a workshop, a kitchen or a shop with a back room — those groups are looking for you right now.

Why bother

A booking engine you didn't have to buy.

🪑

Quiet hours, filled

Tuesday at 7pm is the hardest slot in the business to sell. Small hobby groups are exactly the demand shape that fits it.

🤝

People who show up

Every seat is paid for up front, refundable until the day before. The no-show rate on a booked seat is a fraction of a free RSVP.

🔁

Regulars, not footfall

Recess is built around crews that keep meeting. A good first night tends to come back on a rhythm rather than once.

🧾

No new software

No POS integration, no calendar sync, no contract. A page, a fee, and a payout account — you can be listed in a few minutes.

How it works

Three steps, and none of them are a sales call.

01

Claim your listing

Your venue may already be on Recess — people can attach any real place to what they make, so the entries logged at your studio are already stacking up. Claiming it makes the page yours.

02

Set a seat fee

You decide what a spot is worth. Recess collects it at booking and takes a small platform cut; the rest lands in your Stripe account on the usual payout schedule.

03

Post a drop-in night

Open a few seats on a night you'd otherwise be dark. Hosts can build their own sessions around your space too, and you keep the seat fee either way.

The money, plainly

You set the seat fee. We take a small cut. That's the whole deal.

Payouts run through Stripe straight to your account — Recess never sits on your money. There's no listing fee, no monthly minimum, and nothing to cancel if it isn't for you.

Tell us about your space.

We're onboarding venues city by city, starting in the Tampa Bay area. Tell us where you are and we'll come back to you.

We'll only use this to reply. No lists, no sharing.
